In 1969, Mr. Syed Raqib Hussain Naqvi formed a company under the name of “Progressive Internationale” dealing with the export of Pakistan-made handicrafts and fresh fruits to the Far East Asian countries. Mr. Raqib was joined by his younger brother Syed Aqib Hussain Naqvi in 1972 and the company expanded its business scope into the import of type writers and other related office machines from the Czech Republic (Formerly Czechoslovakia) and China to cater to the growing demands of upcoming businesses in the country.
The company entered into indenting of Paper and Paper Board in 1974 representing various Paper Mills from Portugal, Brazil, Bulgaria, Hungary, Taiwan, Indonesia, China, Thailand, Hong Kong, etc as exclusive agents and quickly became a top market player in the paper industry. The company name was changed to Cyklos Pvt Ltd in 1984 and the scope of business was restricted to focus on the indenting of paper and paperboard in Pakistan.
With over 50 years of experience in the market, Mr. Aqib moved to the United States of America in 2013 and setup “Cyklos” as a sole proprietorship with the sole purpose of exporting Paper and Paperboard to Pakistan with business development in the UAE, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh under progress.
The company currently represents the following paper mills, among others, as exclusive agents in the Pakistani Market
- KRPA Paper SA – Czech Republic
- P.T. Sinar Hoperindo – Indonesia
On a non-exclusive basis, the company is also exporting paper and paperboard from various paper mills in the USA to Pakistan.
